Circuit Productions Inc. (CPI) is supported, in part, with public funds from New York State Council on the Arts and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
Band engagements range from the cultural, corporate and commercial: On the cultural side they have performed at: El Museo del Barrio, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn Children's Museum, BAM Cafe, Association of Hispanic Arts, etc.
On the commercial level: the legendary Bayamo, Alex Garcia's Babalu Club/Rest, L'ivre, Nell's, Supper Club, Nova Terra, Two Boots in Park Slope, Tito Puente's, Cafe St. Barts, and Makeda to name a few. Corporations that have become regular clients and sponsors: Salomon Smith Barney, MorganStanley, Citigroup, Reader's Digest, El Diario/La Prensa, etc.
At present the band consists of Berkley trained killer piano man Sam Barrios, drummer- percussionist Urbano Sanchez who plays for Lionel Ritchie, Richard Bona and Papa Wemba, Danny Hinton on bass who works with the top Salsa bands in NYC, Ivan Rodriguez Jr. on Drums and Timbas and JuanMa Morales on the Puertorican cuatro/guitar & vocals. These performers are band regulars, incredible musicians and close friends.
Sonido's repertoire is Up-Tempo Salsa, Cuban Son (Buena Vista Social Club style), Bomba+Plena, Merengue, and their own special blend of chacha and reggae which they call Reggao. You can hear the jazz influence in their improvisational solos. They also feature Latin standards upon request.

Sonido Costeño's Founder and Director Juan Ma Morales has trained under the tutelage of Daniel Zimmerman at the Julliard School of Music and cuatro under Paquito Lopez Cruz at the Conservatorio de Musica Puertorriqueno. JuanMa expanded into a jazz style by attending the New School's guitar Study Center under Howard Morgen and received his Bachelors Degree with honors from Cornell University.
